Lakewood High School students have been keeping us real busy this year. Love all the Seniors from that school. They have all been so incredible to work with. Lyndsay is another Senior from Lakewood. She choose Cheesman Park for her senior session. She was supported by Lauren who I photographed last spring and have seen her at Chole’s senior session. Lyndsay came prepared to rock her session with her prom dress and several outfit changes. She also brought another dress so she could play in the fountains. I love all the energy and ideas these seniors bring to the session. Check out her photos. I love, love the first one. It’s more of a personal art piece for me. Enjoy!!

Last week I photographed Connor who attends Lakewood High School. We trekked all around Denver’s industrial area. As the sun was going down, we ended up at a train yard where we did some off camera lighting. Came away with some killer stuff. Check it out.

Senior Season is in full gear with yearbook deadlines fast approaching. Contact Roka Studios to set up your appointment for your senior photos. Sessions are limited and the calendar is filling up fast.
Barbie attends Holy Family High School and photographed her session last week. I am always a little cautious when a client picks a location that I have never shot at. Barbie and her mom picked an old historic farm down the street from them. Once I got there, I knew it was going to be a great session. Everywhere I turned there was somewhere else I wanted to photograph.Barbie is the type of senior I love to photograph. Why you ask? She was inspired by the location, was willing to go anywhere, and try anything for her senior photos. We were climbing up barns that looked like they could fall over any minute, we went into an old shop that was just demolished with trash everywhere and was blazing hot inside. She also climbed a 18 foot long container in heels for a sunset photo. Two thumbs up for that. She had complete trust in what I wanted to do and was game to do it. It’s that attitude that I love about seniors. She told me she wanted photos that were different than everyone else. She didn’t want to be by a river or a tree, well I think we both accomplished that. We mixed a little of off camera lighting for some dramatic effects, some natural light, and some photoshop skills to complete her senior photos. Check out her incredible senior photos.

A couple of days ago I photographed Kymberlee from Erie High School. During the session we talked about going to another location that I was familiar with, but Kymberlee’s mom mentioned an old barn that was off the road that she would really like to try. It was just up the road and I am always game for a new location. I fell in love with all the places we were able to photograph on the property. I never could figure out where the owners lived and most of the property looked vaccant, but the barn had electricity so someone was using it. We kept shooting until way after the sun went down. I pulled out the off camera lighting for more of a dramatic look with the night shots and I love the shots we got. Check out a couple of my favorites from the session.

Lakewood High School students have been very good to Roka Studios this year. We have been photographing a lot of 2011 seniors from the school. All the seniors from Lakewood have been so great to work with. So many creative students from the school who are no doubt going to be successful in life. Clayton is another senior from Lakewood that I photographed this past week in Downtown Denver. Clayton plays the bass guitar as you can see from the photos, but the man has good taste as well….He is a big Star Wars fan like myself. I had a blast cruising around Denver photographing him. Here are some of my favorites. Will have his music video up soon.
On another note, there is still slots open to book your senior session. Give us a call to schedule your session.

Yesterday I had two senior sessions downtown. Both of them from Lakewood High School. I will start with some of the photos from Chole’s session. It was a great day, not only did I get to try out my new backdrops that I just got in the mail, two of her friends who I had already photographed came to support her for her session. Ali and Lauren came out for the session. It’s not often that I get to see seniors more than once, wedding clients I get to see many times. It was good to catch up with the girls and hear about their summer. All three of the girls were just laughing the whole time during the session. I love the new backdrops I purchased and Chole’s eyes just popped in front of the blue one. Chloe choose to do The Designer session which is two hours long, which provided us a lot of time and several outfit changes. She even brought her prom dress which I loved to photograph her in. Check out some of my favorites from the session. Will have her music video up soon, so check back to see that.

Yesterday I photographed Rachael from Erie High School. You might of remembered Kelsey from several posts ago. These two attend two different schools but are the best of friends and play ball together. Rachael and I got lucky during her shoot. The last week afternoon thundershowers have rolled in everyday. It looked like the session might of been canceled before and during. We had the perfect window to photograph between two storms. I also was able to use my new thrifty find of a chair in the middle of a wheat field for the session. I found the chair at a used furniture store for $15, it had so much character that I had to buy it. At the end of the session, we decided to play in the middle of the road with some off camera lighting for a little bit more of dramatic light. Here is a sneak peak from her session. Should have her music video up in the next day or so.
